Climbing camp. I got a chance to work a climbing camp with the folks from CTS this past weekend and it was superb. I drove a Nissan Pathfinder rental around for the weekend on some of the prettiest road in the area and hang out in the natural setting that is WNC. Check out the classroom and climbing.

Came back to a hornets nest.
It seems some not so happy folks from the depths of hell decided I needed to re-evaluate one of my solutions to the Green's Lick epidemic. This has turned into a great learning experience. I should have put a sign to tell people what was happening to one of the most ridden trails in Bent Creek, but I didn't. Well, the filter at the top got yanked apart. Now, I need to process all this extra information and think of how I can use the negative energy of one to work through to a positive place for myself and the club. THANKS DUDE, YEAH I NEEDED TO PUT ENERGY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! Ah, on another note I have begun working on art again, I just needed the space and now I think I am going to put some effort towards that while I am home, I would love to be back in my Art Mind.
Here are before and afters of the Green's Lick thing.

Enjoyable Obligations
Well, I finally found time to sit down and get some built up energy out of my mind.
The IMBA conference and Andy's wedding. It has been over a week since I sat in front of this contraption and tried to ex-foliate my mind.
I just returned from the 2008 imba conference and it was a great experience, I mean conference. I arrived early in order to get into a few discussions before the events really cranked up. The IMBA conferences always bring such a massive amount of energy, but I found myself this year more open to absorb it than ever before. The highlight of the trip? Meeting and talking to Glen Jacobs, my new inspiration. The man is AMAZING. We come from a tremendously close place, and I really look forward to future conversations.
Here are some photos from the trip. The DJ park in Park City, good flowy Ghetto at it's best. The boys of RC Ultimate Fighting Champions. Finally, a park RULZ sign. I think things are going to get really interesting in the next few years.
Finally, Andy G. is getting married today, it is like watching my brother go, I am so stoked for him, he and J seem really happy. How tremendous on Summer Solstice.

Man oh man....
Okay, let's see if I can gather some thoughts and get them down on the interweby in some sort of coherent way.
This week has mostly been recovery from the National Trails Day event. It was great but certainly a little taxing. I learned a few very important lessons financially with some hoopla at the bank. I shifted airline tickets around for the IMBA conference in Utah, that is twice this year I have adjusted plane tickets, I need to be sure to include that in my travel budgeting next year. I met some really cool people this week and have had some good times. I worked at the bike shop and kicked it a bit, I found out what super hero I was, .... I am IRON MAN. But, yesterday was a highlight, another DT. It was great. Van bought a trailer for the club and we worked on the ONE section of GL that was bugging me after the workday. a berm that was a little off and a rock seep crossing that was a tad loose. Now the berm is 90% and the crossing is solid. If we do what we can, when we can; the world will gradually become the place of our dreams.

NTD...and I am spent
Well, I proceeded to create quite a workday and the only images I took were in my mind. So for a great NTD show look to IMBA Kelly and Collins did a great job summing up the weekend events. Here is a picture from Friday of all the prep.
Now it is cleaning the house, maybe building a few bikes and getting ready to go to the IMBA conference. Should be a good rest of the week.

Mountain Sports Festival.....
The past weekend was entirely structured around attending the Mountain Sports Festival. It was a great weekend and the first that I have spent with Kelly and Collins, IMBA's new Trail Care Crew. They are really great folks and I enjoyed my weekend with them. Above are a few pictures from the weekend booth. Pisgah Area SORBA threw a few things together and we have been trying to really promote the National Trails Day Festival. Today I am off to Albemarle, NC to look at a few things and then it is back here to spend the end of my week on NTD. What counts as a day off?
